CES Review: HD 3D needs more time in the oven
January 13, 2009 by Derek
Yes, it could be really neat if viewers could see all their favorite TV shows on HD and in 3D, jumping right out at them and turning traditional TV viewing into a true experience. However, based on the showings at CES 2009, true HD 3D needs more work to really be ready to make the jump to the average Joe’s living room.
TVPredictions.com has a detailed article about the pros and cons of the 3D experience, including its unsuitability for sports due to the nature of the technology, the need for expensive glasses for the best results, and the overall poor quality of the images unless very close to the action. This article (and us as well) believe that 3D could be viable if reworked a bit, but right now, it’s not there quite yet.
Here’s the aforementioned article for your reading pleasure.
