Extra Green – for Extra Green: The Loewe Art SL HDTV

June 3, 2009 by

lowIf you’re the green conscious sort of person (and a number of people are nowadays), the Loewe Art SL HDTV may be something that attracts your notice. It’s marketed as one of the greenest HDTVs released to date by any company. And design and specs supposedly don’t suffer either.

This 1080p panel comes with an Eco Mode that lets you control precisely how much power it sucks up and the automatic light dimming uses up to 20% less than that amount when it runs normally. In standby mode, the TV uses just 0.7 Watts (that’s among the lowest of any company), which should slash the power bill quite a bit.

The basic model is £2,345 (that’s $3,885 or so USD) list price. It comes in 42? or 47? screen sizes and you get a Freeview tuner and a 250GB HDR with every purchase. Not cheap, but if sipping power is your style, this may be just the ticket.
