CBS (1080i) has the season premiere of Survivor at 8 p.m.
NBC (1080i) brings Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday at 8 p.m., the season premiere of Parks & Recreation at 8:30 p.m., the season premiere of The Office at 9 p.m. and series premiere of Community at 9:30 p.m.
CW (1080i) airs The Vampire Diaries at 8 p.m. and Supernatural at 9 p.m.
WGN (1080i) has WWE Superstars at 8 p.m.
Discovery (1080i) has Destroyed in Seconds at 8 & 8:30 p.m.
History (720p) has Marked at 9 p.m.
ESPN (720p) has Georgia Tech/Miami college football at 7:30 p.m.
ESPN2 (720p) airs Fever/Mystics WNBA playoffs at 7 p.m. and Mercury/San Antonio at 9 p.m.
ESPNU (720p) has Howard/FAMU college football at 7:30 p.m.

A great night for variety for HDTV fans, with lots of sports, premieres and WWE, of course.

The Office and Parks and Recreations are two i’ve been looking forward to seeing, and a new Fringe and Bones too. Too many good shows on! This is where the DVR earns its keep, for certain.

It’s a good time to be a HDTV lover, indeed.
