We’ve covered Sears BF previews a few times now, but this time we’re bringing out the big guns: the official Black Friday of HDTV deals scheduled to go up on that fated day. There’s some really nice prices, including a 42″ Zenith HDTV for $399 (!!). It seems Sears wants to really get your attention if you’re in the market for a TV, and these prices might just accomplish that.

Here’s some more prices:

LG 60″ 1080P 600HZ Plasma HDTV – $1,499.99
Panasonic 32″ 1080P 60HZ LCD HDTV – $399.99
Panasonic 37″ 1080P 60HZ LCD HDTV – $469.99
Panasonic 46″ 720P LCD 600HZ Plasma HDTV – $499.99
Panasonic 50″ TC-P50S2 1080p 600Hz Plasma HDTV – $799.99
Samsung 32″ 720p 60Hz LCD HDTV – $329.99

Samsung 40″ 1080P 60HZ LCD HDTV – $497.99
Samsung 50″ 720p 600Hz 3D Plasma HDTV – $899.99
Samsung 55″ 1080P 120HZ LED HDTV – $1,499.99
Samsung 55″ 3D 1080P 240HZ LED HDTV – $2,199.99
Sony 40″ Bravia 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV – $549.99
Zenith 42″ 720P 600HZ Plasma HDTV – $399.99

A 46″ Plasma for $499? Insane. A 60″ LG Plasma for $1499? Pretty cool indeed.

First Black Friday Report: Sears fires the first shot

It looks like Sears will be launching the first salvo in the holiday price wars this year with an early “sneak peek” of some great Black Friday deals, but about a month earlier than most other chains. Here’s a few of the deals they’ll be hawking:

Vivitar X029, 10 Megapixel Optical Zoom Camera — $49
RCA 40-Inch, 1080p LCD HDTV — $499
PlayStation 3 160GB Entertainment System — $299
Nintendo Wii Bundle, including Wii Sports and Motion Plus — $199

What catches our eye immediately is that very cool price on a 40″ 1080p TV for $499….anyone can now afford to put a decent sized HDTV in their living room and enjoy HD and Blu-Ray content the way it was meant to be seen.

We’re hoping more sets get added, but that alone is a reason to keep a look out for Sears on October 29 and 30 (the two days of the sale), and it seems to also indicate the BF wars may be starting early for other companies as well.

Big Game Price Dives: HDTV Super Bowl Sales, Sears and Free Blu-Ray

searsIt’s that time of year: The Super Bowl. It’s also the time of year some retailers discount HDTV units to sell them to folks wanting to view the big game on a BIG HD screen, which we’re all in favor of, obviously. Prices on HDTVs are already pretty low so far this year, as we’ve reported. Sears is one of those making a big push in this direction.

Sears is launching a big game sale on HDTVs, including an 8% instant savings on sets 46″ or larger, for those of you with a hankering for really big screens. The sale also includes a chunky $150 savings on a Zenith 42″ Plasma HDTV; instead of $649, it will be priced at $499. That’s big-time coin, folks. Other retailers have somewhat similar plans, rumors are reporting.

And another feature we especially like: Sears will include a Blu-ray player free of charge with select Samsung HDTVs you may buy from Sunday, Jan. 24 to Saturday, February 6, so those ready to take the plunge may want to stop by Sears and take a look.
