Long Time Missing: HDTV Deals for a Tuesday
It’s been ages since we did our deals segment, so we’ll give you an extra dose of savings on HDTV goodness. Here we go:
B&H Photo Video – It’s a fact: smaller HDTV sizes are as cheap as they’ve ever been, and the Viewsonic VT2430 24” 1080p Widescreen LCD for $229.00 with free shipping is proof of that fact. Nice deal on a pretty nice unit.
Dell Home – Dell has good deals at times, such as this Sharp AQUOS LC-55LE620UT 55” LED LCD HDTV for $1799.99 – $600 instant discount from our link = $1199.99 with free shipping too. Tough to beat that, from what we’ve seen.
Walmart – Now it isn’t a top name, but the deal is exceptional: a Hannspree ST42DMSB 42″ 1080p 120Hz LCD for $449 – with free shipping? Crazy talk.
Thanks for joining us on this jumbo sized edition of deals, and have an HD day.
Thursday’s Thunderous HDTV Deals
We’re running out of words to use for the title of these segments, so pardon us while we search the thesaurus for more words to use in future segments.
In the meantime, peruse these amazing HDTV offers:
Newegg.com – A very nice deal for the money: The Viewsonic VT2430 24” 1080p LCD HDTV for $229.00 with free shipping too. Nice size; big enough to be worth the trouble, but small enough to fit on a desk or in a corner somewhere.
Dell has some very nice deals on HDTVs at times, including this one: The Panasonic VIERA 37″ TCL-37X1 with iPod dock 720p LCD HDTV for $499 with free shipping as well. We’d grab it up!
Thanks and please return tomorrow for more amazing deals!
HDTV Deals of the Day – Weekday Edition
We’re starting to feature these deals more often, and that makes us feel quite useful to all of you, our loyal readers. We usually have these only on the weekends, but this is a special weekday edition.
Here’s two more selected great deals:
Buy.com – The Viewsonic 47” 1080p Widescreen LCD HDTV – Glossy Black for $994.99 with free shipping. Great deal on a well-received TV in slick glossy black.
B&H Photo Video – Amazing price on this model! The Sony BRAVIA V-Series 40” 1080p LCD Flat Panel HDTV – Black for $874.95 with free shipping too – how do we find them? (Their order system has a glitch and will be back up at 9PM Saturday – probably high response for this offer!).
Feel free to glance at these, and have a great day/night, whichever it happens to be in your neck of the woods.
Small package, big features: Viewsonic 22″ 1080P VT2230

Not quite ready to go full on big screen, or need something nice for a main bedroom? This new Viewsonic release might be just the ticket for you, these situations being the case.
Today, Viewsonic announced the release of the 22″ VT2230. The set is one of the smallest to feature Full 1080p HD, VGA / HDMI, a built-in multi-type digital tuner and a wallet-friendly price tag. More specs for techie among us: a solid 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 5ms response time, 300n brightness and 3-watt speakers. Pretty good stats for a TV this compact and portable.
It’ll retail for $349, which isn’t bad at all, and you can probably find a lower price at discount retailers. Buy it now at Newegg.
A New Player: Viewsonic unveils two new LCD HDTV models

We’re not precisely sure what makes this “multimedia” over any other HDTV, but we’ll just go along with it for now. Viewsonic is getting into the HDTV business, it seems.
They’ve unveiled a 24″ LCD with full 1080p HD res, an internal “media player,” and an RS-232 port for home automation purposes, so its got all the bells and whistles.
Alongside that model, which will retail for $449 (a bit steep for a 24″ to be honest), which will be available in the 2nd quarter 2009, the company is also releasing a bigger cousin, an ultrathin 42″ LCD. Included will be 500 nits of brightness, a decent but not spectacular 1,500:1 contrast ratio, VGA / DVI connections, and built-in handles to make it easy to carry. It will also appear in Q2, and will retail at $1,999 or so.
It’s interesting to see Viewsonic as a player in the consumer HDTV industry, but with economic times the way they are, the pricing may not be ideal. We’ll have to wait and see what comes of this development.
Deal of the Day: ViewSonic N3252W 32in 8ms 720p LCD HDTV $390

This one takes a bit of explaining: NewEgg has the ViewSonic N3252W 32in 16:9 8ms 720p LCD HDTV for only $400 – $50 rebate (exp 12/31) + $40 3-day shipping = $390 shipped. Whew, that wasn’t that hard, perhaps.
So you can get it in time for Christmas with this offer, and it’s one of the better prices we’ve seen on a model with this size and stats. Very cool indeed. We’re glad once again to be bringing you one of the best deals on a nice HDTV on the internet, and this one expires soon, so get in on this and give your loved ones an HD holiday season.
Stats and specifications include: 1000:1 contrast ratio, 8ms response time, 720p, 20W sound system, and 2 HDMI connections. Very solid for the price (never thought we’d see this size of HDTV for under $400 shipped).
Happy holidays!
